Hotel jobs Gulf – a world away from living in London

I have always really enjoyed working in the hospitality trade.  It is not just the satisfaction you receive from presenting high quality service, but also the opportunity to meet and spend time with such a wide variety of people.  I had lived in London for ten years when I started to consider whether using my skills further afield might be a good move.  I enjoyed working in five star hotels, so I tried searching the internet for ‘hotel jobs gulf’ and found that there was plenty of work out there that seemed very fitting for me.  Looking around the topic a bit more, searching for hospitality jobs Singapore and hotel jobs Dubai also returned some amazing looking opportunities.

I was then tasked with deciding which of these fantastic areas I wanted to live and work in.  I had seen lots of pictures of Dubai on the news, but didn’t know much about it.  Hotel jobs Dubai seemed to be largely on the high end side of things, but I knew my silver service training and experience in hotels in Knightsbridge would be an advantage in applying for this work.  I remembered that Dubai had experienced some problems in the worldwide financial crisis, but a further internet search seemed to confirm that the hospitality industry there was seeing something of a resurgence – perhaps it was the idea that the area would be so much cheaper than it had been previously, drawing visitors to the area.  I found three jobs that looked particularly suited to my experience, and sent off the online application forms.

Hospitality jobs Singapore presented me with a similarly dazzling array of possibilities. I hada couple of friends who had moved to the country with their jobs in banking and shipping, and I liked the idea of having a few friendly faces in the country I was moving to.  I got in touch with them and they assured me that life out there was rather lovely – not only did Singapore have much to offer, but there were opportunities for travel to all sorts of amazing nearby countries.  I found another three job adverts that looked like they matched up with my experience, and sent off some emails detailing how useful I could be to their hotels and restaurants.

I was fortunate enough to receive two requests for interviews over skype, for one of the hospitality jobs Singapore and one of the hotel jobs Dubai.  In the end I had left the hotel jobs gulf results because my head was already spinning with all the possibilities!  I was offered a job in a hotel in Singapore and now cannot wait to get started!
